Job Description

Senior Sales Manager, EdTech & K-12

Company: LearningMate, a Straive group company

Location: United States (Remote)

Department: K12 Sales

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Strategic Partnerships

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

LearningMate, a Straive group company, is seeking a Senior Sales Manager to accelerate growth across the education technology (EdTech) ecosystem, with a focus on EdTech companies, education publishers, and digital learning providers, alongside select K-12 districts and state education agencies. The ideal candidate is a consultative, new-business seller with established relationships across education and EdTech, a strong understanding of market needs, and a record of building pipelines and closing complex, high-value engagements.

As a senior individual contributor, you will own strategy and execution for a defined portfolio, developing executive relationships and translating customer priorities into opportunities for LearningMate’s digital, data, cloud, AI, learning design, and technology services. You will engage business, product, technology, content, and learning leaders to identify opportunities such as product development and modernization, platform and application engineering, data and analytics, content and curriculum solutions, AI-enabled capabilities, and ongoing technology services.

You will manage opportunities from prospecting through negotiation and close, aligning proposed solutions to business outcomes, budgets, delivery requirements, and procurement processes. Customers include EdTech platforms and SaaS providers, digital curriculum and content companies, assessment and learning analytics providers, education publishers, and organizations building or modernizing education products. K-12 districts and state agencies remain part of the broader opportunity set, but the primary emphasis of this role is commercial EdTech growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Revenue and Territory Strategy: Build and execute a focused account and territory plan, establish pipeline coverage, forecast accurately, and achieve annual bookings and revenue targets.
  • Develop EdTech Relationships and New Logos: Identify, engage, and build trusted relationships with CEOs, founders, business unit leaders, chief product and technology officers, product leaders, content and curriculum executives, and procurement stakeholders at EdTech companies and education publishers. Create new-logo opportunities while expanding strategic accounts.
  • Lead Consultative Discovery: Understand each prospect’s product roadmap, growth priorities, customer needs, technology environment, delivery challenges, and build-versus-buy decisions. Translate discovery into a clear value proposition and tailored solution with measurable business and learner outcomes.
  • Build and Close Qualified Opportunities: Own the full sales cycle, from targeted prospecting and qualification through solution shaping, proposal development, commercial negotiation, and close. Develop compelling proposals, statements of work, and business cases that connect LearningMate capabilities to customer priorities.
  • Build a Strong Market Point of View: Track EdTech market segments, funding and investment trends, product and platform shifts, AI adoption, competitive activity, and relevant education policy. Use these insights to prioritize accounts, sharpen messaging, and create timely opportunities.
  • Orchestrate Cross-Functional Pursuits: Partner with solution, delivery, technology, learning design, marketing, and leadership teams to shape differentiated solutions, validate feasibility and economics, and ensure a smooth handoff from sale to delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent in education, business, or a related field.
  • Enterprise Sales Track Record: 10+ years of B2B or enterprise technology sales experience, with demonstrated success in new-logo acquisition, complex solution sales, pipeline development, forecasting, and consistently meeting or exceeding quota.
  • EdTech and Education Market Expertise: 5+ years of experience selling technology, digital learning, content, curriculum, data, analytics, AI, or related services to EdTech companies, education publishers, or other education organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the EdTech buying landscape and a relevant network of decision-makers.
  • Experience selling professional services, product engineering, digital transformation, or managed services is valuable.
  • Complex Deal Execution: Experience navigating multi-stakeholder buying processes, solution-based selling, commercial negotiations, MSAs and SOWs, and multi-year engagements. Familiarity with RFPs and formal procurement is beneficial; public-sector procurement experience is a plus.
  • Executive Communication and Business Acumen: Able to engage credibly with executive, product, technology, academic, content, and operational leaders; connect customer priorities to business value; and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Collaborative and Accountable: Skilled at coordinating cross-functional pursuit teams, managing multiple opportunities, maintaining disciplined CRM and forecast hygiene, and positioning solutions in a competitive market.
  • Travel & Flexibility: Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.
